Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born April 30, 1924 in Surry County to the late Joe and Metta Evans Shinault. Mrs. Murphy was a retired farmer, homemaker, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her family, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ben Junior Murphy on September 9, 2002. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda (Ronald) Holcomb, Yadkinville; three grandchildren, Ronald, Jr. and Mandy Holcomb, Yadkinville; Angela and Henry Brown, East Bend; Jennifer and Darren Sehnke, Yadkinville; three special great-grandchildren, Lakin Holcomb, Danielle Brown, Zachary Brown; a sister, Mary (Spencer) Snow, Yadkinville; and a brother, Bill (Celia) Shinault, Siloam. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 14, 2008 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be c! onducted 4:00 p.m., Friday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Brother Lawrence Warden. Burial will follow in the Deep Creek Friends Church Cemetery.
