Brown, 87, on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, he went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to be with His dear wife, Nola, relatives,and friends in Heaven. He was born April 26, 1921 in Yadkin County to the late William Daniel & Nettie Casstevens Brown. Mr. Brown was a retired Tobacco and Dairy Farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Brown was a member of Swaims Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nola Campbell Brown on July 5, 2006; two sisters Dorothy Moxley, Stacie Bryant; two brothers-in-law, Kim Moxley and Kenneth Bryant. Surviving are his son, Vernon D. (Brenda) Brown, Boonville; a daughter, Janet (Steve) Choplin, Yadkinville; grandchildren, Stephanie Osborne, Amy Mason, April Miller, Darin D. Brown, Vernon Dwayne Brown, and Derek Neil Brown; great grandchildren, Campbell Paige, Anna Kate, Tyler, Caden, Nathan, Bridget, Sylvia, Scottie, Ericka, Brett, Jerrad, Noah, Kaleb, Eden; a sister Shelb! y (Gray) Moxley. His Funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday November 15, 2008 at Swaims Baptist Church by the Rev. Vernon Brown, Dr. Steve Powers, and Rev. Don Collins. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mitchell' s Chapel United Methodist Church. with full Military Honors by the V.F.W. Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Swaims Baptist Church 3919 Swaims Church Rd. Hamptonville, NC 27020. Online condolences may be made at www.gentryfunerlaservice .com. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Brown family.
