She was born January 24, 1921 in Wilkes County to the late Arthur and Maude Combs Wood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Surviving are her brother, Ivan (Linda) Parker; sisters-in-law, Sara Parker, Jane Parker; and several nieces and nephews. Her Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2008 at Charity Baptist Cemetery in Boonville by the Rev. Kevin Killam and the Rev. Harlan Hamilton.
