He was born June 8, 1928 in Yadkin County to the late Santford S. & Kate Bray Brown. Mr. Brown was retired from American Can Corporation in Canton, MD with 40 years of service. He was a member of Branon Friends Meeting and enjoyed his time spent as a member of the Yadkin County Senior Chorus. He loved the outdoors and spending his time hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was also preceded in death by his two sons, Monty K. Brown, James K. brown; a granddaughter, Veronica Brown; three brothers, George Brown, Claude Brown, Jake Brown; and two sisters, Martha Wooten and Mary Messick. Surviving are his wife, Pauline S. Brown, Baltimore Md; his children, Kenneth P. Brown, Linda S. Holthaus, Karen E. Bailey, Darrel W. Brown, Kathy G. Herfel; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Ed Brown; Sister Daisy Salmo! ns; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, at Branon Friends Meeting, with Pastor Joe Reece officiating. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Branon Friends Meeting, Branon Church Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055 or to the Yadkin Senior Chorus, c/o Yadkin Senior Center, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
