He was born July 15, 1917, to Joseph Mahlon and Etta Doss Crissman. Mr. Crissman was a member of North Oak Ridge Baptist Church and was a mechanic for Reece & Baker Garage. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by several brothers and sisters, including two sisters, Stacy Calloway and Grace Eads; and two brothers, Floyd and Ellis Crissman. Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Ruth Benton Crissman, who resides at Elkin Healthcare Center; two sisters, Katherine Casstevens and Ira Mae Hemric; several nieces and nephews; and special caregiver and friend Carol Gentry. Funeral services for Mr. Crissman will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, at Gentry Family Chapel, with the Rev. Spencer King officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens.
