Mr. Baity was born Feb. 22, 1934, in Yadkin County to the late Thomas and Iris Baity. He was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co.; was a member of Courtney Baptist Church; and was a retired faithful member of Courtney Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are his daughter, Deena B. (Sandy) Yeatts of Yadkinville; a son, Michael Timothy Baity of Yadkinville; two grandchildren, Justin Byrd and Corey Yeatts, both of Yadkinville; Shirley Groce Baity of Yadkinville; a sister, Annie Lee McDaniel of Boonville; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, April 10, at Courtney Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Martin and the Rev. Ricky Atkins officiating. He will be in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
