She was born Nov. 7, 1934, in Mooresville to the late Dick and Pauline Hazel White Mauney; however, she spent most of her childhood in the Lincolnton area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, S. Don Heffner, in 1973; and also her sister, Phyllis Goodson. Surviving are her husband of 32 years, George L. "Andy" Anderson Jr. of the home; her children, Kim McDonald (Charlene) Heffner, Doris Suzanne Heffner and Julia H. (Chris H.) Caudle, all of Yadkinville; three grandchildren, K.M. "Mac" Heffner Jr., Corey Caudle and Sydney Caudle; a stepson, Greg (Tracy) Anderson; four stepgrandchildren, Ashley Anderson, Jonathon Anderson, Jeremy Anderson and Doug Shore; and her brother, Jerry (Vera) Mauney of Concord. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today, April 20, at Harmony Grove Friends Church Cemete! ry, with the minister that married her and Andy, the Rev. Richard Eskew, officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the cemetery at the church. In remembrance of Doris, the family requests that memorials be made to either the Yadkin Center-Surry Community College, Attn: Marion Venable, 630 S. Main S., Dobson, NC 27017; Breast Cancer Research Foundation of the Triad, Attn: Carolyn Myers, 2129 Ray T.
