York, 75, of Rockford Road, Yadkinville, passed away Monday, March 3, 2008, at Hugh Chatham Hospital. She was born in Yadkin County to the late Fred E. and Florence Shore York. Ms. York was employed by Hanes Hosiery and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. for a number of years. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Winston-Salem. Surviving are her brother, David (Betty) York of Yadkinville; niece Lynn (Chris) Funk of Boonville; and great-nephew Caden Funk. Her funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at Deep Creek Friends Church, with the Rev. Lee Lane officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, March 5, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials made to Yadkin County Council on Aging, P.O. Box 789, Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Hugh Chatha! m Hospital and Willowbrook Nursing Center for their love and care.
