Mr. Potter was born in Watauga County on Feb. 15, 1934, to Ruby Potter. He was a retired employee of Swing Transport Co.; life member of the VFW; former member of VFW Post 3074 in Lexington; a member of Yadkin VFW Post 10346; and a veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his mother; and wife Maxie Mikles Potter. Surviving is wife Dorothy Matthews Potter of the home. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Randy Starkey officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park with military rites by VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, before the service. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date at East Bend Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to !
