She was born Jan. 24, 1948, in Mecklenburg County to John and Dolores Elledge Ritchie. Mrs. Anthony was retired from Chatham Manufacturing and was a faithful member of Dennyville Baptist Church where she served the church as a Sunday school teacher. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to her family and community. Surviving are her devoted husband, of 41 years, Gayle Anthony of the home; a daughter, Gina Anthony (Tim) Redmond of Statesville; two special grandchildren, Brookelyn Redmond and Regan Redmond, all of Statesville; two sisters, Brenda Ritchie (Jimmy) Parks and Norma Ritchie and friend Boone Swaim; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, at Dennyville Baptist Church, 2713 Old Highway 60, in Ronda, with the Rev. Dwayne Byrd officiating. She wi! ll be in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, March 11, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice Home, 410 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dennyville Baptist Church; Dr. Grote and staff of Wilkes Regional Cancer Center, especially Gina Jenkins; and Mountain Valley Hospice, including, Lynn Aplin and Kathy Reece, for all the loving care, support and prayers given on behalf of Mrs. Anthony.
