She was born Jan. 24, 1921, in Yadkin County, to the late Allred and Fannie Garner Reynolds. Mrs. Gelston was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She had been a member of Yadkinville United Methodist Church and attended when her health permitted. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Gelston; a sister, Mabel Johnson; and she will join her best friend, Katie Lee Wall, who also preceded her in death. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Gerri Reynolds, Yadkinville; a daughter, Kathy Lum and friend, Julia Brand, Alexandria, Va.; granddaughter, Debra and Tony Macemore, Yadkinville; and great-grandsons, Tyler Macemore and Logan Macemore. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. today, March 17, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The funeral ! service will follow at 4 p.m. today in the Gentry Family Chapel with the Revs. Stewart Rotten and Chris Hauser officiating. Burial will follow in Yadkin Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 201 Technology Blvd., Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC. Published in the Winston-Salem Journal on 3/17/2008.
