She was born August 29, 1934 in Surry County to the late Hermon Gwynn & Minnie Royal Thompson. After 30 years of Teaching she retired as a School Teacher from North Forsyth High School. She was a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Gentry was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Shelley Gail Gentry; a brother James Hermon Thompson. Surviving is her husband of 53 years Fred W. Gentry of the home; a son Greg Scott (Amy) Gentry, Colorado; four grandchildren Nathan Gentry, Balin Gentry, Raeya Gentry and Chloe Gentry; sister Thelma Lee (Jim) Miller; several special family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday November 15, 2010 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday November 16, 2010 at Richmond Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Will Hamrick and Rev. Dan Merritt. She will lie in state 30 minutes pr! ior to the service. Burial will follow at Mountain Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
