Passed away Monday, November 22, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 23, 1917 in Moore County to the late Dougald Morris and Jeanette McKay Cameron. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris Sutton Cameron; sisters, Alberta Grant, Sarah Edwards; brothers, Elmer Cameron, Dougald Cameron; and 2 infant great grandchildren. Mr. Cameron was a veteran of World War II, retired from the Yadkin County School Systems as the Agriculture Teacher, and an active, charter member of the Yadkinville Lions Club where he served the club in various offices. He was also a lifelong Presbyterian, where he served as a Deacon, Elder, and Sunday School Supernatant. He was the 2009 Elder Emeritus. Surviving are his daughter, Suzanne C. (Rob) Carmichael; a son, Dennis (Debbie) Cameron; grandchildren, Brooke (David) Sowards, Wayne Cameron, Carey (Chris) Coolidge; great-grandchildren, Kathleen, Henry and Ella Coolid! ge, Ty Sowards; His funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Judith Dellinger. Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2010 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
