Mr. Coe was born June 19, 1927 in Surry County to the late Daniel Oscar & Ruth Coe Coe. Mr. Coe was retired truck driver for Royster Clark Company; he also served with the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant twin brother Coy Wendell Coe and brother Rex Alton Coe; sister Evelyn Coe Rhoades; sister-in-law Helen H. Steelman; two brothers-in-law Carlos Young and H. Frank Steelman. Surviving are his wife of 53 years Dorothy Steelman Coe, of the home; a son Danny (Loris) Coe, Yadkinville; two grandsons Ryan Coe and Reid Coe; two sisters Velma (James) Binkley, Hazel Young; three brothers Dennis (Barbara) Coe, William (Glenda) Coe, Ron (Raynell) Coe; two sisters-in-law Ina Sheek, Susan Steelman; two brothers-in-law Gilmer Rhoades and Roy Steelman. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Thursday November 11, 2010 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Hi! s funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday November 11, 2010 at the Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Georgianne Satterfield and Rev. Nelson Puffenbarger. Burial will follow at Deep Creek Friends Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Yadkin Valley Home Health for their loving care given to Mr. Coe.
