She was born March 6, 1922 in Yadkin County to John Henry and Nora Bovender Shore. Mrs. Dahmer was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She was very active with the Salvation Army where she enjoyed doing ceramics until her health declined. She loved collecting elephants and loved to work with plants. She also enjoyed numerous special friendships. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald Dahmer; daughter-in-law, Dale Dahmer; and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are her children, Bob Dahmer and wife, Tevera of Winston-Salem, John Dahmer and wife, Sylvia of Winston-Salem, Richard Dahmer and wife, Windi of Florida, Wayne Dahmer and wife, Ann of Florida, Donald Dahmer of Winston-Salem, Gail Weathers and husband Graham, of Washington State, Clyde Dahmer and wife, Carolyn of Rural Hall, Eddie Raines and wife, Marsha of Nashville, Nancy Long of High Point, ! Ray Gann and wife, Sandi of Reidsville, Faye Webster and husband, Keith of Mayodan; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one brother, Billy Shore of Winston-Salem. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 3 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Gary Byrum officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
