Their first child was born 1872 [at least first that I have identified] and the Mary HOLCOMB he married was still in the home of her parents on the 1870 census. On the 1860 census, Alfred is just a couple of families away from Mary HOLCOMB. But he is living with William and Lydia CAMPBELL. I found William and Lydia on the 1850 census when Alfred would have been 7, but he isn't with them. Am still trying to find him in 1850. There is an Alfred in the right area and the right age range, but the head of household is a Lewis CAMPBELL. The more answers I get on this family, the more new questions pop up.
