He was born August 12, 1931 in Iredell County to the late Guy and Disa Renegar Cranfill. Mr. Cranfill was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation Highway Department in Yadkin County, was a member of Sandy Springs Baptist Church, Lone Hickory Volunteer Fire Department, and a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed making his daily rounds at McDonalds and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant sister, and two brothers, Larry Cranfill and Harold Cranfill. Surviving are his brother, Fred (Ida Mae) Cranfill, Mocksville; special friend, Carrie Steelman, Yadkinville; nephew, Joe (Maudie) Cranfill; nieces, Vivian (Allen) Hix, Shelia (Ralph) Renegar, Vickie (Maxie) Melton, Laura (Darrell) Harris, Disa Caudle; several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, including M! arilyn R. Kimmer, and friends, including, Jimmy Bowman. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, at Sandy Springs Baptist Church, by Rev. David Kiser and Rev. Howard Wagoner. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
