Mrs. Hampton was born June 29, 1916 in Surry County to the late Dovie Wilson Sprinkle and Mell Sprinkle Sprinkle. She was retired from Chatham Country store. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Edmond Hampton; one sister, Ila Kinley; and four brothers, Roger, Max, Johnny, and Jimmy Sprinkle. Mrs. Hampton is survived by a daughter, Frances Hampton Reaves of Mt. Gilead, NC; one sister, Martha Wilkins of Jonesville, NC; two grandchildren, Susan Valentine of Los Angeles, CA, and Beth Synder of Chesapeake, VA; eight great-grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Garrett, Preston, Henry Synder, Dean Valentine, Jr., William and Mary Lilly Valentine; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Arlington First Baptist Church, in the Social Hall Friday, 10 a.m., March 26, 2010. ! Funeral Services will be held at Arlington First Baptist Church at 11 a.m.; the body will be placed in the Church at 10 a.m. Rev. Jerry Fugate will be officiating the ceremony. Interment will follow in Crestwood Memorial Garden. Johnson Funeral Services will be serving the Hampton Family.
