She was born January 30, 1942 in Davie County to the late Lewis A. and Mary Hester Kiger. Mrs. Lyon was retired from Unifi with 28 years of service, and was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She attended Maranatha Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Royal Ford; a sister, Mary Fulp; 4 brothers, Ray Kiger, Curtis Kiger, Franklin Kiger, and an infant brother. Surviving are her children, Jeffrey Gray Royal, Yadkinville; Bonnie R. (Gary) Todd, Hamptonville; Stephen L. (Shelia) Royal, Enon; grandchildren, Brian Todd, Patricia Todd, Nathan Royal, Stephen Ford, Kimmy Ford, Brandy Todd, Evan Royal; great-grandchildren, Hannah Todd, Brian Todd, Jr,; Hayden Royal, Kiley Turpin; sister, Linda Mason; brother, Rev. Gene Kiger; very special little Dog, "Bud! dy"; and her loving neighbor, great friend, Mary Church, with whom the family is grateful for all of her help through the years. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev.
