Mrs. Nicks was born in Yadkin County on March 17, 1919 to the late Julius Eugene and Vertie Mitchell Pinnix. Mrs. Nicks was a beautiful mother, and a loving, devoted and dedicated matriarch. She cherished her four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, flowers and gardening. She was a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church in Boonville, NC. Mrs. Nicks is survived by Hilda Papastrat and husband, Chris, Treva Mae Nicks, Linda Needham, Louie Nicks and wife, Geraldine; grandchildren, Dean Papastrat, April Currin and husband, Alex, Jill Winslow and husband, Kyle, Scott Needham; five great -grandchildren, Meredith Olivia Currin, Bryce Alexander Currin, Chase Moore Winslow, Spencer Nicks Winslow and Emerson Mathis Winslow. Mrs. Nicks was preceded in death by her husband; and parents. Funeral S! ervices will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor William "Will" Hamric officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the Service. Burial will be in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery in Hamptonville, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain View Baptist Church Building Fund, 1232 Mountain View Church Road, Hamptonville, NC 27020. Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain is assisting the Nicks family.
