She was born March 25, 1922 in Forsyth County to the late Ephraim and Luella McCollum. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7. She was a special lady with a deep faith and loved playing the piano. She was the pianist for several churches and quartets through out her life. She was an avid reader of Christian literature and shared her books and tapes with her many friends. She enjoyed participating with the Yadkin prison ministries and the meals on wheels. She was a retired bookkeeper working many years for Mcknight's Pallets in Yadkinville, NC. She enjoyed going to yard sales and had a story to tell about every item she purchased. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roy McCollum. Surviving are her children, Adelaide (Raymond) Whitaker, Max (Susan) Caudle, Alma (Charles) Haynes; grandchildren, Eddie (Debbie) Sheek, Gary! Sheek, Sam Whitaker, Tim (Cheryl) Caudle, Sherrie (Tom) Senecal, Tamika (Derek) Cave, Avery (Jinda) Haynes, Tasha (Josh) Freeman; great grandchildren, LeeAnn Robbins, Jamie Sheek, Alison Sheek, Lindsey Sheek, Hannah Sheek, Laykin Whitaker, Wesley Whitaker, Harrison Whitaker, Katelynd Caudle, Sheridan Caudle, Sofie Senecal, Zac Senecal, Max Senecal, Bella Senecal, Zeke Freeman, Nolan Freeman, Jana Cave, Jonathan Cave, Grayson Haynes; great great grandson, Dylan; brother, Coy (Dorothy Ann) McCollum; niece, LuAnn (Carl) Deneison; nephew, David Lee (Jamie) McCollum. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2010 at Yadkinville Church of God by the Rev. Tim Jones and the Rev. Daryl Wykes. Burial will follow at Harmony Grove Friends Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
