She was born March 28, 1952 in Yadkin County to the late William L. "Bill" Greene and Hazel Spillman Greene. Mrs. Matthews was a founder and co-owner of Diversified Foam of Yadkinville. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who enjoyed her time in the sun and on the water at Santee Cooper and Lake Norman. Mrs. Matthews loved hosting and cooking for family, friends, and Forbush High School Football Teams. Surviving are her beloved husband, Brent Matthews, of the home; her children that she loved deeply and was very proud of, Kelly S. Matthews, Yadkinville; Brett (Terri) Matthews, Yadkinville; Adam C. Matthews, Wilmington, NC; Granddaughter, Mallory Catherine Matthews; sisters, Barbara (Edward) Hilliard, Knoxville, TN; Billie (Michael) Adams, Lake Gaston; brothers, Lawrence Greene, Clemmons; Keith (Cherry) Greene, Jamestown; uncle, C.D. Spillman, Yadkinvil! le; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Her Celebration of Life will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Allison Oakes Winery in Yadkinville.
