He was born May 6, 1926 in Surry County to the late P.W. and Lizzie Pinnix Swaim. Mr Swaim was retired from Sunbeam Corporation, enjoyed farming, and was a member of Swan Creek Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Odell Swaim in 1998; a grandson, Johnny Swaim; two sisters, Olene Wishon, V.L. Bryant; and a brother, Jack Swaim. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Rebecca Pardue Swaim; a granddaughter, Crystal (Ricky) Anderson, Hamptonville; great-granddaughter, Croslee Anderson; and a sister, Annie Sue Alexander. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. J! oe Souther and full military honors by Yadkin VFW Post 10346.
