Mrs. Banner was born March 5, 1920 in Surry County to the late Joe Ring Day and Nora Ray Day. Mrs. Banner was a member of Jonesville First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Reginald Banner with whom she shared 69 devoted and wonderful years. Also surviving are two sons, Reginald Lee Banner and wife, Nancy Everidge Banner of Winston-Salem; Alan Grey Banner and wife, Sandra Simmons Banner of Statesville; six grandchildren, Mary Margaret Vogel, Joe D. Banner, James E. Banner (Claudia), Jeffery A. Banner, Grey S. Banner, and Christopher D. Banner (Shelia). In addition, she leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Charlotte Vogel, Walker Vogel, Blake Banner, Barrett Banner, Bradshaw Banner and the newly arrived Isabella Banner. Mrs. Banner was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will always be ! loved and remembered by her family. Other surviving family members include a brother, Jack P. Day of Gastonia; a sister, Mrs. Lucille Furches of Farmington, NC. Mrs. Banner is predeceased by hr parents. Other deceased family members include Mary Belle Day, a loving step-mother and devoted friend; and Mrs. Betty Jo Haynes, a sister who was an inspiration to everyone. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Jonesville First Baptist Church, with Rev. Roger Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, in the church sanctuary, prior to the funeral. Interment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens in State Road, NC.
