She was born November 6, 1930 in Wilkes County to the late Beamer & Etta Curry Hemric. She was a member of Roaring Gap Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Lewis Holcomb; a son, Stewart Holcomb; a sister, Peggy Wiles; and a brother, William B. Hemric. Surviving are a daughter, Tenia (Vaughn) Brown, Yadkinville; a son, Forest (Tammy) Holcomb, Thurmond; a granddaughter, Lacey Marie Brown; a sister, Betty (Ira) Mallory; brother-in-law, Rev. E.R. Wiles; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. Her Funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday March 5, 2010 at Gentry family Chapel in Jonesville by the Rev. E.R. Wiles. Burial will follow at Roaring Gap Baptist Church.
