Hutchens, 68, of East Bend, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Yadkin County on September 9, 1941 to Marvin Roe and Lethie Allen Matthews. Mrs. Hutchens was a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church. She was co-owner of Hutchens Christmas Tree Farm. Mrs. Hutchens was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gilbert Matthews, Roger Matthews, and Henry Matthews; and sisters, Vernie M. Lane and Patty M. Cox. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Monty L. Hutchens of the home; son, Darrell Hutchens and friend, Connie Michelle Queen of East Bend; special niece, Patsy Widner; and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Huff Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Will Hamric officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30 until 1:45, prior to the Service. Flowers wil! l be accepted or memorials may be made to the donors choice.
