She was born June 15, 1951 in Forsyth County to Harold and Dorothy Mae Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie "Jim" Lee Saunders; father, Harold Paul Carter; sister, Elizabeth Ann Carter. Surviving are her mother, Dorothy Mae Brown Carter; son, Daniel (Mandy) Starling; step-son, Shane (Pam) Saunders; grandchildren, Karson Starling, Katie Starling; step grandchildren, Meredith Saunders, Michael Saunders, Brittany Saunders; sister, Joyce (Steve) Holden, Debbie Cave, Alice (Shannon Poindexter) Carter; nieces, Tracy (Jeff) Farmer, Toni (Matt) Moxley; and other family members. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Mt. Carmel Friends Meeting by the Rev. Jeff Farmer, the Rev. Ronnie Wooten, and the Rev. Archie Creeds. Burial will follow at church cemetery. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will rec! eive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mt.
