Reece, 67, of Shacktown Road passed away Sunday May 2, 2010 at Yadkin Valley Community Hospital in Yadkinville. He was born September 15, 1942 in Surry County to the late Worth Harold and Lucy Holcomb Reece. Mr. Reece was retired from Carl Rose and Son Asphalt Paving Co, and worked with different equipment in grading land. He was a member of Mitchells Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his infant daughter. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Reece, of the home; a son, Joe (Tracie) Reece, Boonville; a daughter, Melissa Reece, Boonville; grandson, Jaron Sears; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, including his two special friends, Jaron and his pet cat, Ben. The family will receive friends from 700 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Tommy Vestal and Rev. Jimmy Lancas! ter. Burial will follow in the Mitchells Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Mountain Valley Hospice, Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem Health Care, and Yadkin Valley Community Hospital for all the loving care and support given to them.
