Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born May 15, 1934 in Yadkin County to the late Sanford and Viola Mackie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Herbert Potts. Surviving are her children, Charles Potts, Mary (Jackie) Adkins, Martha (Sam) Chandler; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Andy Chandler. Burial will follow at Yadkinville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Online condolences can be made at www.gentryfuenralservice.com. NOTE BY SUBMITTER: Alta's father was Joseph "Joel" Sanford Mackie and Minnie Viola Childress. Joel was the son of Joseph "Joel" Robert Mackie b. 5 14 1862 died 4 19 1936,and Catherine Elizabeth "Kate" Collins b. 2 15 1876 died 8 18 1945. Joseph Robert was the son of Benjamin Mackie and Tennessee Reece. Benjamin was the son of Robert Mackie and Anna Martin. Catherine Collins Mackie was the daughter of David D. Collins b.April 1835 died 7 14 1912 and Nancy Smith b. 10 18 1845 died 2 26 1916. David was the son of Hiram Collins and Phebe Tucker.
