She was born July 19, 1952 in Surry County to John Thomas and Veatrice Salmons Arnold. Mrs. Darnell worked as a R.N. with Hoots Memorial Hospital in Yadkinville for several years, and was a member of Deliverance Baptist Church in Ronda. She loved her family, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone. Mrs. Darnell was preceded in death by her father, John Thomas Arnold. Surviving are her beloved husband of 39 years, James Webster Darnell, of the home; 2 children, Kandra Sue (Kevin) Bondurant, Ronda; Kelly James (Alisha) Darnell, Knoxville, TN; Grandchildren, Elizabeth Morgan Poindexter, Caitlin Olivia Bondurant, Joe Thomas Bondurant, Emma Grace Bondurant, Hunter James Darnell; 3 sisters, Deborah Kay (Mike) Russell, Hamptonville; Janie Marie (Pee Wee) Seimers, North Wilkesboro; Bonnie Heart, Raleigh; 2 brothers, ! Johnny Odell (Etta) Arnold, Ronda; Robert Steven (Tamara) Arnold, East Bend. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Brother Johnny Arnold and Brother Kelly Darnell. Burial will follow in the Deliverance Baptist Church Cemetery.
