That's a long period from 1800 to 1880. Is that a typo? Since Yadkin didn't form until 1850, then I looked for Cockerham on the 1860 Yadkin census and found a 35-year-old D.S. Cockerham listed, no place of birth shown. He is listed as a physican and living with another physican. Was your fellow a doctor? There is also a David and Nancy Cockerham and two children listed Yadkin. None of the two children are Sanford. Do you know when your Sanford moved to IA? Happy Hunting.
