Reavis Thompson, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday January 10, 2010. He was a retired Truck Driver and enjoyed many hours in his wood working shop since his retirement. He was a member of Sandy Springs Baptist Church. He was born February 14, 1936 to the late Clifford Odell & Eva Reavis Thompson. On November 9, 1958 he was married to the former Audrey T. Thompson, who survives. Also surviving are his sons Paul Gray Thompson and wife Jeannette of Yadkinville, Jerry Lee Thompson and wife Gennie of Yadkinville; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother Roy Lee Thompson and wife Camilla, sister-in-law Polly Thompson, and numerous friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; a granddaughter Amanda Lynn Thompson, brother Harold Thompson; sister Betty T. Ward. His funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2010 at Sandy Springs Baptist Church, by the Rev. David Kiser. He will lie in state 30 minutes p! rior to the service. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with full Military Honors by the VFW Post 10346.
