Mrs. Grubbs was preceded in death by her husband, Cromer Raymond Grubbs, Sr. in March, 1993. She was born October 5, 1915 in Yadkin County to the late John Henry and Nora Bovender Shore. She had lived in Winston-Salem since 1925 and received her education in the public schools, graduating from Reynolds High School, Class of January, 1933. Mrs. Grubbs was Secretary of Grubbs Real Estate Company. A member of Ardmore Moravian Church, she served two terms as president of the Women's Fellowship and at one time, a member of the Provincial Women's Board, and the Wachovia Moravian Reporter in the Southern Province. She was a member of the Winston-Salem Woman's Club and The Thursday Morning Music Club where she was president among other offices. In addition to her parents; and her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Joyce Shore,! Osie Faye Wilson and Lee Ellen Marion and two brothers: John H. Shore, Jr. and Jack E. Shore. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Vicki Grubbs Moore of Tustin, CA; a son, Cromer Raymond Grubbs, Jr. and wife, Kathryn Grubbs, of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren: Laurie W. Moore, III (Shannon) of Greensboro, Lee Moore of Tustin, CA, Lane Moore (Diana) of Costa Mesa, CA, Chadwick R. Grubbs (Beth) of Charlotte and Kathryn G. Ezzell (Brad) of Cary, NC; and seven great-grandchildren: Mallorie, Madison, Amanda, and Courtney Moore, and Banks, Brooklyn, and Blakely Grubbs. She is also survived by one sister, Juanita S. Dahmer and one brother, William A. Shore, both of Winston-Salem. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 4, at Salem Funeral Home Chapel on Main Street with Rev. Jon Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
