She was born in Surry County on July 8, 1953 to the late Issac Dawes and Ola Mae Simpson Sprinkle. She worked for the Yadkin County Social Services as a Medicaid Case Worker. Surviving is her husband, Rex Howard Venable of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela Venable and Eric Sorrell of Yadkinville, Sarah Elizabeth and Mitchell Southard of Dobson; three grandchildren, Emma Grace Sorrell, Abigail Faith Sorrell, and Isabelle Denise Venable. In addition to her parents, an infant brother preceded her in death. A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Shield of Faith Baptist Church on 209 East Atkins St., Dobson, NC 27017. Brother Terry Longworth will conduct the service. The family will receive friends at the Church on Friday evening one-hour prior the Memorial Service. There will be no formal services held at M! oody-Davis Funeral Home. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Shield of Faith Baptist Church, PO Box 1163, Dobson, NC 27017.
