Mrs. Shore was born in Yadkin County on January 7, 1922 to the late Dock Thomas & Mary Belle Dinkins Matthews. Mrs. Shore was a member of Forbush Friends Meeting but she attended Union Cross Friends Meeting. She enjoyed gardening and quilting and always provided her family and friends with fresh vegetables. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, John Benjamin "J.B." Shore on October 18, 2002. Surviving are a daughter, Nelda Fox and her husband, Larry, Statesville; a son, Leon Shore and his wife, Gayle, Yadkinville; two grandsons, Brad Shore and Kevin Fox; a brother, Bobby J. "Bob" Matthews and his wife, Vernell; sister & brothers-in-law, Junior & Josie Mathis and Aline Shore; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3:30 4:30 Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Gentry Family Funeral service in Yadkinville. Her Funeral Servic! e will follow at 4:30 p.m. in the Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Jake Penley and the Rev. Gene Shumaker. Burial will follow at Union Cross Friends Meeting Cemetery.
