Apple, 80, of Sandborn, Indiana, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born on May 28, 1930, in Statesville, NC to William 'W. A.' and Daisy (Garner) Arnold. On November 27, 1955 she married Glen G. Apple. Virginia graduated from W. Yadkin High School. She received her BA from Western Kentucky and her MS from ISU. She worked as a Knox County Ext. Agent for four years then as a school teacher in Linton, Odon and North Knox. She retired from North Knox Middle School after 29 years of service. She was a member of the Sandborn Christian Church, Past Worthy Matron of the Sandborn Order of Eastern Star Chapter #497, Odon Order of Eastern Star and Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include her husband, Glen Apple of Sandborn; one daughter, Cindy Malone of Bruceville; two grandchildren, Josh (Jenny) Anthis of Sandborn and Jamie (Cody) Biggs of Fort Sill, OK. Also surviving are two brothers, W! illiam 'W.A.' Arnold of Yadkinville, NC and Jack (Dorothy) Arnold of Bristol, TN; one sister, Polly Fuqua of Frankfort, KY. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ann Cain and Ila Henkel and one brother, Davis Arnold. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Sandborn Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the church. Visitation hours will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at the Sandborn Christian Church in Sandborn, Indiana. Visitation will continue on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Funeral services will begin on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sandborn Christian Church, with Bryan Sanders officiating.
