He was born May 27, 1938 in Yadkin County to the late Avery and Mayme Collins Hobson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Derrick Todd Hobson; and brother, Thomas Anthony Hobson. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Martha Brown Hobson; and son, Jeffrey Brian (Amy) Hobson. His Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Deep Creek Friends by the Rev. Georgiana Satterfield. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the Service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
