She was born in Yadkin County to the late Melvin & Ruth Bryant Groce. She graduated from Bowman Gray School of Nursing in 1955. Mrs. Everidge was a Registered Nurse at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. She loved Nursing and helping others. She was a member of Jonesville First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Aldon Bryant. Surviving are her husband of 49 years Joe Clay Everidge of the home; two daughters Melva Edmisten, North Wilkesboro, Martha Dickerson (Robbie Blalock), Lewisville; a brother Leonard (Carole) Groce, Jonesville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. Her funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Jonesville First Baptist Church, by the Rev. Albert Everidge, Rev. Charles Lethcoe, and Rev. Roger Hensle! y. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral. Burial will follow at fall Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Jonesville First Baptist Church 134 Winston Road Jonesville, NC 28642.
