Mr. Cheek was born in Yadkin County on March 18, 1925 to the late Chancey & Vergie Felts Cheek. Mr. Cheek served in the US Army and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a lifelong tobacco and produce farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers Truman Cheek, Clyde Cheek, Clarence Cheek, Roy Cheek, Hal Cheek, Kermit Cheek and Max Cheek. Surviving are his wife of 65 years Helen Klutz Cheek, of the home; his children Jerry W. (Christine) Cheek, Robbie L. (Elaine) Cheek and Cynthia (Joe) Stokes, all of Hamptonville; grandchildren Shane (Renee) Cheek, Hamptonville; Chris (Leanna Cheek, Hamptonville; Travis Cheek, Central Asia; Emily (Brian) Tuthill, Statesville; Cameron Cheek, Hamptonville; great grandchildren Jada Cheek, Tanner Cheek and one due in October; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 Saturday September ! 11, 2010 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday September 11, 2010 at Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Tim Tucker. Burial will follow at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.
