There is a marriage record in Surry County for Samuel Speer and Ruth Eddlemon, not Davis, on 16 Sep 1812, book A, page 5672. Wonder if this Ruth is the same person? One of Sam and Ruth's children Mary Ellen Speer was the 2nd wife of Meredith Franklin Farrington, b. 6 Feb 1847 (Surry) & d. 2 Jul 1930 (Guilford). As many of you know, Frances Casstevens had a lot of information on the SPEER and PATTERSON lines as well as others. Not sure what her family did with her research work, or if it was donated to a library after she died, etc. Bob ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <NCYADKIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, September 17, 2010 12:09 AM Subject: [NCYADKIN] Samuel and Rachel Speer buried Macedonia MethodistChurch Cemetery > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: pampearson1 > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.northcarolina.counties.yadkin/4545/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > Is anyone familiar with the Samuel Speer (1823-1900) and his wife Rachel > S.
