So he placed his arms around you and whispered, 'Come to Me'. With a tearful eye we watched you, and saw you passing away, although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands are at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, only He knows what is best." Mr. Grady Frank Driver, 69, of Service Road, passed away Thursday, September 09, 2010 at Yadkin Valley Community Hospital. He was born January 29, 1941 in Yadkin County to the late John Frank and Nellie C. Driver. Mr. Driver was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and was a lifetime member of Harmony Grove Friends Meeting. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and especially loved and adored each of his grandchildren. Mr. Driver enjoyed working with wood, building bird houses, and going fishing with his family and friends. Lots of great memories were made with Grady while fishing at! Cape Hatteras and Hatteras Inlet. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Royce Driver; brothers, Carl Gray Driver, Marler Ray Driver; sister-in-law, Peggy Driver; and niece, Dora Lou "Dodi" Driver. Surviving are his beloved wife of 49 years, Cora Lee Hobson Driver, of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Anthony Shane and Alicia Driver, Mooresville; grandchildren, John Anthony Driver, Alana Mae Driver, Jake Anderson Driver; sister, Mary (Ronnie) Reavis, Yadkinville; a special mother-in-law, Roxie D. Hobson; sister-in-law, Brenda H. (Phil) Lineberry; brother-in-law, Leroy D. (Kathy) Hobson; nieces, Marty Driver, and husband, Tom Fagerli, Andrea (Jason) Wohlgemuth, Misty (Nathan) Key; great-niece, Rae Benton; and great-nephew, Landon Key. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3 p.m. Saturday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Fred Sen! er and Junior Gentry. Burial will follow in the Yadkin Memorial Garden s. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to either Harmony Grove Friends Meeting, Yadkinville, NC 27055 or to a charity of the donors choice.
