Mr. Davis was born May 6, 1923 to the late Arthur & Lessie Belle Angel Davis. Mr. Davis was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who loved his family and also loved being outdoors and especially playing a game of Golf with his friends. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Olive "Dale" Smitherman; brother, John Davis; and two step-brothers, Foy Scott and Glenn Scott. Surviving are his wife, Beatrice Hobson Davis, of the home; his children: Darlene (Greg) Reinhardt, Clemmons, Jerry (Mitzi) Davis, Boonville, Ginger Davis (Jim Morris) Lake Norman; granddaughter, Brooke (Kevin) Cole; great-granddaughter, Penelope Cole; five sisters, Juanita Key, Freddie Hobson, Vernie (Max) Kirk, all of East Bend, Betty (Dillard) Simmons, Mt. Airy and Becky (David) Reavis, Pfafftown; three brothers, Ezra (Maude) Davi! s, James (Jean) Davis, and George Davis, all of East Bend; and sister-in-law, Vera Davis, East Bend. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday September 7, 2010 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His Funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Kenny Gooden. Burial will follow at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church Building Fund 2401 Nebo Rd. Yadkinville NC 27055 or to Mountain Valley Hospice PO Box 1267 Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and thanks for all the prayers and kindness shown during his illness, and a special thanks to mountain Valley Hospice of Yadkin County.
