He was born September 9, 1927 in Surry County to the late Mitchell and Tilda Norman Lowe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nicks Lowe; step-father, Sanders Lowe; and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are his daughter, Vonda Lowe; step-son, Ronnie (Connie) Nicks; grandchildren, Chad (Janet) Clifton, Rodney (Connie) Nicks, Amy (Adam) Truitt, Kelly (Chris) Shumate; great-grandchildren, David Nicks, Dylan Nicks, Lily Truitt; great-great-grandson, Terrance Anderson; sister, Polly (Curtis) Bartley; brothers, J.V. (Mary) Lowe, Sam (Verna) Lowe; and special caregiver, Betty Hemric. His Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville by the Rev. Dan Edwards. Burial will follow at Mountain Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.! Tuesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville.
