Haynes, 95, passed away Wednesday February 24, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Haynes was born August 19, 1914 to the late John Linberry & Mary Clementine Haynes. Mr. Haynes was retired from Chatham Manufacturing, and was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 73 years Sallie Wagoner Haynes on February 22, 2008; three grandchildren; five sisters; seven brothers; one step-granddaughter. Surviving are his son Herbert M. (Carol) Haynes, Elkin; daughters Barbara H, (Charles) Chipman, Jonesville; Wilda H. (Romie) Hutchens, Jonesville; Brenda H. Duncan, Sparta; Sarah H. (Bobby) Mathis, King; Elaine H. (James) Walker, Hamptonville; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday February 27, 2008 at Gentry family Funeral Service in Jonesville. His funeral will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday February 28, 2010 at Gentry Family Chape! l by Rev. Barry Shaffner, Rev. Gordon Macemore, and Rev. Richard Caldwell.
