Mr. Crews was born December 24, 1928 to the late Early C. & Myrtle Adams Crews. Mr. Crews was a retired store manager for the Hamptonville BP. He was a deacon and Choir member for several years. Mr. Crews served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Timothy Crews; a sister, Nellie Pelle; four brothers, Glenn Crews, Eldon Crews, Roy Crews and Ford Crews. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Carole Johnson Crews, of the home; two daughters, Debra Crews Brown, Elisa Crews (David "Tony") Couch, both of Hamptonville; six grandchildren: Maria (Mike) Bangle, Shane (Joanna) Brown, Adam (Brandie) Couch, Dustin (Melissa) Ledbetter, Crystal Crews and Ashton Couch; 10 great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Joyce Gobble, Elouise (Roy) Turner, Hazel Reavis, Jeanette (Howard) Moore, Shirley (Herman) Harris. The fam! ily will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2010 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at West Yadkin Baptist Church by the Rev. Justin Crouse and the Rev. Kenny Gooden. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the Service. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with full Military Honors by the VFW Post 10346. Memorials may be made to West Yadkin Baptist Church Building Fund 4413 Hwy 21, Hamptonville, NC 27020.
