She was born April 12, 1929 in Wilkes County to the late John Spencer and Maggie Geneva Mastin Parsons. Mrs. Macemore was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker for her family. She loved making biscuits, cooking for her family, and working crossword puzzle books. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Grady Lee Macemore, on June 8, 1998; by a son, James Larry Macemore on October 13, 1953; and by 2 brothers, Bud Parsons, J.W. Parsons. Surviving are her children, Nancy (Roger) Moore, King, Bonnie (Rick) Slawter, State Road, Peggy (John) Collins, Elkin, Patty (the late Dennis) Parrish, Hamptonville, Shirley (Richard) Royall, Boonville, Tony (Debra) Macemore, Yadkinville, and Wendi (Phil) Ireland, Mocksville; two sisters, Lucille Barker, Traphill and Polly Money, Elkin; 14 grandch! ildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in the Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Patty Choplin and the Rev. Andy Lambert. Burial will follow in the Swaims Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Willowbrook Health Care, family and friends of Mrs. Macemore, for all the loving care and support given to her.
