She was born June 11, 1915 in Wilkes County to the late James and Etta McNeil Kilby. Mrs. Myers was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-great grandmother, and homemaker for her family. She loved spending her time either sewing, pillows, bonnets, and aprons, or working with her flowers. Mrs. Myers was a faithful member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church, as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. L.E. Myers on June 7, 2009, by two sisters, Betty Parsons, Mildred Church, and by two brothers, Gordon Kilby, Warren Kilby. Surviving are her three daughters, Etta Sue (Ted) Macemore, Jonesville; Nancy (the late J.W.) Cheek, Jonesville; Emma Jean Lyons, Elkin; a sister, Martha Kilby, Purlear; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dea! rly; and many special friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. Her funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gordon Macemore and Rev. Richard Cardwell officiating. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens.
