He was born in Yadkin County on December 12, 1931 to Arthur Sidney and Sallie Matthews Angell. Mr. Angell was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Director. He served in the United States Army and was retired from R.J.R. Tobacco Company. Mr. Angell was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin Angell; two brothers; and two sisters. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Betty Angell of the home; son, Darrell (Beth) Angell of Yadkinville; daughters, Bettina (David) Bennett of East Bend, and Leandra (Greg) Tuttle of Yadkinville; grandchildren, Dee Willard, Patrick Angell, Katie Angell, August Tuttle, Trayton Tuttle, Leanna-Rose Tuttle, and Cameron Bennett; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, June 5, at 11 a.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church with th! e Rev. Kenny Gooden and Dr. James I. Murphy officiating. The body will be placed in the church to lie in-state from 10:30 until 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Baptist Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made the Union Grove Baptist Church Building Fund or Music Department, 2401 Nebo Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
