He was born in Yadkin County, NC, March 26, 1919 to Joseph and Edith Azmon Miller. He was married sixty five years to Louise Dull who predeceased him in 2005. Together they had six children, Janet Ford (Craig), Bonnie Prisk, Sandra Nash (Bruce), A. Ray Miller Jr. (Jane), Gail Phillips (William) and Robin (Rebecca). Albert was proud of his large family and was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was Papa to his fourteen grandchildren, Andrea, Christopher, David, Andrew, Stephanie, Matthew, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Katharine, Gregory, Emily, Caroline, Peter and Allison. He was also Grandpapa to thirteen great-grandchildren; Carter, Magdalene, Benjamin, Hannah, Oliver, Addison, Chase, Jonathon, Zachary, Connor, Laila, Wesley, and Owen. Besides his parents and wife he was pre-deceased by his brothers, Joseph, Glenn and infant John Miller; sisters, Hattie Plott, Frances Allen and Sarah Marcella Boyer! . Survivors include his sister Carolyn Rice and brothers, Burley and Leon Miller and many cousins, nieces and nephews, including special nephew Nick Miller. Albert served in the US Navy and was a Veteran of WW II. He retired from the City of Winston-Salem as a supervisor in the Property Management Department. He was a member of Concord UMC in Lewisville where he served as a trustee, board chairman and Sunday School teacher. Visitation will be at Vogler Funeral Home Clemmons Chapel, 2849 Middlebrook Drive, Clemmons (336-766-4714) on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Funeral Services will be at Concord United Methodist Church (336-945-3691), 8955 Concord Church Road, Lewisville 27023 at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, with burial in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Concord UMC Family Life Center Building Fund or the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home and Palliative Care Center. The family gratefully acknowledges the care and concern of the physi! cians and staff of the Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center and the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home and Palliative Care Center.
