Johnson and Alice M. Marshall. Fletcher was my wife's grandfather and we have info on him and his children ibcluding his obit but very little on the Johnsons before him. I believe Wilfords parents were Leonard Calvin Johnson and Sarah Green. L.C. Johnson father Ashley Johnson? Knowing L.C. Johnson and Sarah Green were Wilfords parents will help me link my wifes known family to earlier generations. Fletcher had 6 children including my wifes father Ervin Eugene Johnson b.10 Jul 1920. While Ervin was in the Army he was stationed in Hawaii and met Lulu Kahele. They had 9 children, all born in Hawaii exept my wife born in Danville, Virginia in 1954. If you have any infomation, I would greatly appreceate hearing from you. James (Jay) Robertson Hawaii Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Neither could I find Fletcher in 1920. I assumed he may have been in the military. I did find a Fletcher Johnson in the military on the 1920 cenus but, ancestry transcribed him as black. I looked at the actual record, and it is hard to make out, may have been him. My concern with this family is with Alice's parents. Her mother is Mary Matilda Carlton. I have been researching the Carlton's (mother side) for years, but have not been able to determine Matilda's parents. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. We know from my wife's grandfathers obit (Fletcher Johnson) that his parents were Wilford H. Johnson and Alice McTily Marshall from Yadkin. I had guessed that Wilfords parents were L.C. Johnson and Sarah Green and that Thomas L. Godfrey was Alice son from a earlier marriage. I had found the 1920 census w/Thomas Godfrey living in Pittsylvania, Virginia and thought it matched. I have the 1830 census w/Fletcher and family (including Ervin Eugene Johnson, my wife's father) but didn't notice the Godfreys living next door. I wonder why Fletcher was not living w/his parents in 1910? Where was Wilford and Alice in 1910? Some answers and many new questions....I love genealogy.
